Birdskull Man and stuff

New posts are always fun.

Here's a far more defined look for the birdskull guy. I realized that I wanted to have him in a cape so that when he stood, he would be this long, skinny looking person. I think the main reason I couldn't get the other clothes to work with him was because I didn't have him posing right. Half his look is in his personality and the first time I drew him was far too stoic.

I'm thinking of making these two brother 'n sister. I'm not sure if I'll keep her look (she's on the left btw) as it is or not but I wanted a very tomboy look to her. You'll recognize her from earlier posts where I had the single character portraits. The brother, I'm not sure if I posted him up here before or not.

aaaaaaaand an animation I'm working on. Click it to see it move! I want to finish this as a real animation but it'll take some doing and probably more trial and error to get right.

5 more drawings. I decided to split up the post so I can have something to bring people back again.

Digital Rum mentioned to me that having a female antagonist would be a good idea because it's an underused concept and I had to agree. Thinking on that idea, it caused me to remember an unused character from my past that I tried to recreate from memory. This... was my attempt. The sword may go and her look may change greatly now that she's in a new role, but I liked the look I made for her all those years ago.

A new girl I'm working on. She's grown a LOT since I first drew her. I like the clothes but I may make the dress longer. I didn't want her to be expressly beautiful, but still attractive. Her nose is a bit bigger and her eyebrows are a bit larger, but she's still cute. Very shy, very introverted, very quiet as she tries to disappear into the crowd.

I like this guy. Giving him a unique look to better stand out from the crowd, he's a shop clerk that Shadow helps out doing deliveries and whatnot. His story needs to be fleshed out more but I like having a big ol' boy sitting behind the counter, built like a sh*t brick house, taking up most of the room on his side but with a kind disposition.

Hello again everyone! After a slight poke, I decided to go ahead and make another post. Here are a few things I've been working on and mulling over since last time.

This is a character idea for an old lady concept. She'll get fleshed out a bit more later but she's an essential part of the story.

Another essential story character. I need to keep working on his design though. I feel as though it's just not quite what I'm looking for yet but I'm on the right track.

I'm thinking of making this guy Shade's BF. He'll be quiet and meek and he's actually going to be younger than Shadow. Maybe? idk, I'm working on it. Anyway, he'll be part of maybe a religious or special group within the story. He has eyes and can see just fine but his deal, and other like him, is that he can see things far far away, beyond the scope of eyesight. Maybe use them as seers or prophets of sorts? Either way, they're further in tune with the goings on in their world but only the highest of the classes have access to the deepest secrets. mmmmmmmaybe... we'll see how it all pans out in my head later, but the idea is there and so is the design. I may further refine him later, maybe even simplifying his look a touch.

People characters

I've posted this before but I've gone back to it and fixed up the looks to the characters a bit more. I may compleatly change and or redo two of these characters before I'm ready to make 'em official.

Okay not really. But it sounds good. And what makes me sad is that I don't get much feedback here. BUT! I'll still use this space as a special space just for people who watch this space. Maybe one day we'll all look back at this in fondness... naaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah, you just wanna see sketches I bet. And boobies. Maybe... I can't pretend to know what you're thinking but considering that 80% of people on the internet are men, I'd say that's a fair bet. OH! Did you know that 57.3% of statistics are made up?

Any way, the main reason I'm posting is because I wanted to show off the raw scans of Shade's posse. They really don't even have names yet, but that'll come later. Hey, if you have any ideas, do let me know. I can use all the ones I can get.

First up is my titular (ha, tit) side character, Shade. Whom has been stealing the limelight from Shadow significantly, but I hope to address that soon. But as far as clothing goes, this is what? Normal for her? I suppose it is. Nothing like going out and being ready to deck someone in the face.

A member of Shades group, you may remember him from some of the other concept art I've thrown around. I think his look has been nailed down.

One of the first character concepts I thought up when creating the supporting cast. Might yet flesh him out more during the inking.

Yet another that has come a long way to being more complete as a character. I can honestly say that I've been having a blast creating these guys.

Ah, the big boy himself. Messing with proportions can be difficult, case and point would be this guy. Getting him to look just right is a task. I have to draw shorter legs, bigger calves and a smaller head to make it look right. And all that goes against my home training.

The latest to make the cast. I'm not sure if I'll make her an absolute part of Shade's posse or if she'll just show up on her own or with her brother. I may further refine her look later.

So that's my post. Again, don't be shy about commenting. I WILL respond and am so very interested in listening to folks and their opinions. Remember, opinions are like bellybuttons. Everybody has one and it's usually full of crap.... wait, is it bellybuttons or assholes?

As surprising as that may be to those who still look at this place. BUT! I've got something exclusive for this area that I'm not going to show off in my personal comic till I'm good 'n ready to. That being, the face of Sightless, one of my personal characters.

These are some idea sketches on how he'll look in general. I spent a good deal of time into both his design as well as the design on his sword.

I may increase the size of his sword a bit though. From handle to tip, it should be about 5' or more. Granted, it's not going to be bigger than he is but in all practicality, if you think about it, you're still swinging around a big piece of metal that would weigh around 100 lbs easy. I'm all about being practical so the design can't go too over the top. Also, I'm happy about his boots. Look at 'is boots. Them's some fine lookin boots. Have I convinced you to stick around in this spot longer? I sure hope so. Also, this stuff happened.

I found all these neat things that I haven't scanned yet and then I scanned them.
